Nine
gets value from Oz Media

(published as a result of the mention of Hottest On
TV in the Media section of The Australian)
Nine's stalwart spinner, David Hurley and the Sydney
news director, Max Uechtritz, certainly got their
money's worth in lunching The Australian's Media gossiper,
Amanda Meade last week.
Crikey
reported in Friday's sealed section how Amanda had
been lunched at Ottos, the upmarket quasi Italian
eatery frequented by some of the Emerald City's glitterati.
Part owner John (Carson) Laws is a frequent trougher
at his restaurant.
It's
expensive, but from today's Media section in The Australian,
it was worth it.
A
nice story on the Nine Network's two new western Sydney
news bureaus in Parramatta and Liverpool - Nine http://theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,11346943%255E7582,00.html
shifts crews to its heartland. It's not a new story,
Nine having announced it months ago. But the whole
thing started this week. Pity about the photo accompanying
Amanda's story though. It was taken at that well-known
western Sydney spot called the Nine helipad at Willoughby.
Then
Amanda has the drop on the new finance reporter for
Nine, the ABC's Karen Tso. The story isn't on the
web this morning, but as Amanda reveals, Karen is
on the web as one of the 'hot' http://www.hottestontv.com.au/index.php?section=celebs&profile=200&letter=k
&sort=firstname&sort_gender=b&anch=2
babes on TV.
The
report by Amanda makes clear Tso was a Max hiring.
She'll be doing a Ross Greenwood in working across
the Network doing business, or rather doing what Ross
Greenwood was hired partly to do (he writes for The
Bulletin and other ACP magazines).
Let's
hope though she stays in one place long enough to
learn and develop so she can fully replace Business
Sunday reporter, Helen McCombie, who left almost two
months ago.
But
if she's going to be also doing reports for Sunday
and A Current Affair, as well as 'news programs",
what will Ross Greenwood be doing? That was supposed
to be his gig when he was hired by john Alexander
to replace Michael Pascoe.
