Concerns that a giant blimp could
gatecrash this year's AFL grand final and other
Melbourne events have been raised with the state
and federal governments, and could lead to a broadening
of aerial advertising laws.
Several
major events organisers, including AFL chief executive
Andrew Demetriou, have raised concerns about the
blimp, which features large Holden advertising,
with state Sport and Recreation Minister Justin
Madden.
The
blimp's regular appearances over Melbourne this
month have the AFL and its major sponsor, Toyota,
increasingly concerned about potential ambush
marketing at this year's grand final...
