Jacobsen signs partnership with leading US promoter, Jack Utsick Presents

Jacobsen Utsick Partnership to increase number of headline international acts to Australia and New Zealand and broaden show business activity

In a joint announcement late January, Sydney-based Jacobsen Group affiliate, Jacobsen Platinum Pty. Ltd., has executed contracts with one of the largest concert promoters in the world, Jack Utsick Presents, to form a 50-50 partnership company aimed at becoming a major promoter of theatrical and special events and shows in Australia and New Zealand. The new company will trade as Jacobsen-Jack Utsick Presents and will commence operations immediately.

General Manager of Jacobsen-Jack Utsick Pty. Ltd, Michael Jacobsen, said the new partnership creates an exciting era in producing and promotion in Australasia.

“Jack Utsick is a major promoter, both in the US and globally, and we are excited to be joining our companies together,” Mr. Jacobsen said.“ He has an incredible international network with 13 offices throughout the world. His company controls 3A Entertainment in England and the Van Hoorn Entertainment Group in the Netherlands and has associations that will prove synergistic, including with Live Entertainment in Asia and Michael Chugg Entertainment in Australia.

Managing Director of Jacobsen-Jack Utsick Presents, Kevin Jacobsen O.A.M. said, “I have known Jack Utsick personally for many years, and his contacts, client relationships and longevity in a business in which such contacts mean everything, are without parallel. We have already co-promoted many successful ventures with Jack in the past, including the BeeGees, Elton John, Shania Twain and other attractions. Together we will have an enormous advantage and I look forward to a more formal relationship. The combined networks of Jack Utsick Presents and the Jacobsen Group are extensive”.

Director, Jack Utsick, said he saw strong potential to combine the Jacobsen’s industry expertise and networks with his own to make Jacobsen-Jack Utsick Presents a highly successful entertainment group in Australia and New Zealand.

“From my perspective, the timing is right to commit more fully to the Australasian market. The strengthening of the Australian and New Zealand dollars have made the time ripe to seize the many opportunities available in those markets. I have known and respected the Jacobsens for a long time and I look forward to working with them to expand and increase our market share Down Under,” Mr Utsick said.

Kevin Jacobsen as Managing Director

Jack Utsick - Director

Amber Jacobsen – Director of Concerts and Special Events

Michael Jacobsen – General Manager

CFO, producers, production managers, accountants and other staff will be appointed.

Michael Chugg Entertainment told CX they would continue their relationship with Jack Utsick. The deal with Jacobsen was for theatre, and 'MOR' acts.
