Police
raid bikies over $22m drug ring - 26th May 2004

Hundreds of police have arrested 17 people today in
raids in three states linked to a suspected $22 million
bikie gang amphetamine network.
Police
in NSW, Queensland and South Australia conducted simultaneous
dawn raids on 26 properties, 11 of which were in Dubbo
in central western NSW.
Police
will allege bikie gangs the Rebels, Nomads, Gypsy
Jokers, Hells Angels and Sphinks are part of an amphetamine
manufacturing network whose drugs are then distributed
by truck drivers.
Properties
raided in New South Wales were at Dubbo, Wellington,
Gilgandra, Sydney and Port Stephens.
Police
say 11 men and two women were arrested and charged
with drugs offences and will appear in Dubbo local
court today.
Four
men were arrested in South Australia after nine houses
were raided in Adelaide and the city's east of Adelaide.
They
are expected to appear in Adelaide local court today,
charged with drug offences.
Meanwhile,
in Queensland, police raided two properties but found
no one there.
