Wanted - Talent to be a big hit in Reality TV!

Wanted - Talent to be a big hit in Reality TV - 22nd September 2003

Multi award-winning producers Brett Clements and Peter Dodds are now scouting for local talent to participate in a new reality TV series called H‘it’! which will see 12 of Australia’s most talented, young creatives shack up in a Sydney production ‘house’ for six weeks. The housemates can come and go as they wish. H’it’ TV is looking for actors, artists, designers, directors, musicians and other creatives to make their own TV programs to market to the world. In what is set to be a 16-part, one-hour series, the creatives, aged 18-30, with mayby the odd "oldie", will pitch their visions for shows to the actual viewing audience and Australia will vote for which concepts they’d like to see turned into television, via SMS, of course.

Brett Clements said, "The general public doesn’t get much of a say when it comes to what formats are turned into pilots so we thought we’d give the country a chance to influence what’s on TV”.

The Reality TV visionary was the think tank behind one of the world’s first reality-based TV commercial campaigns, New Zealand’s "Real Slice of Heaven", and also created international TV series such as "Just For The Record", the new Wonder World (on Nine) and "The Aquanauts", in addition he created the international best selling Video Board Game, Nightmare.

Clements has teamed with Logie-award-winning documentary maker Peter Dodds, who also authored a major Australian report into the future direction of television and multimedia, and the writer of the "Big Brother Uncut. Unreel. Unseen" DVD.. Also joining the team is director Rodney Morris. Dodds and Morris are two of Australia’s foremost interactive producers, with numerous credits and awards across the television and multimedia industries.

To enter applicants must produce a 60-second advert on yourself and explain why you think you’ve got what H‘it’! takes to make the big-time. The adverts will be evaluated by a judging panel of industry icons including Philip Noyce, Glenn Wheatley, Jack Singleton and one or two others that Mediaman know very well indeed!

The H’it’! production team also includes studio-owner and entertainment entrepreneur, Malinda Rutter, who recently launched her Polkadotts talent agency into the United States, top Sydney marketing director, Kate Neale and the Post Production team from Farscape, Claudia Boland and Barba Cooper.
