(Owners and operators of Mercedes Australian Fashion
Week)
IMG, the world's premier sports and lifestyle management
and marketing firm, acquired Australian Fashion Innovators
(AFI) in October 2005 and with it the region's premier
fashion event, Mercedes Australian Fashion Week. This
acquisition also included the management and production
of several events throughout Asia. IMG FASHION Asia
Pacific is the name of the newly formed company.

currently owns and operates a number of the world’s
most important fashion events under the IMG FASHION
business including Olympus Fashion Week (New York),
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios (Los
Angeles), Fashion Fringe (London), the Sunglass Hut
Swim Shows Miami presented by LYCRA® (Miami) and
Lakme Fashion Week (India). IMG has associations with
other fashion weeks around the world and it also owns
and publishes “The Daily.” Part of the group
includes IMG Models, the world's number one international
model management firm, representing many of the industry's
top names. Clients include Mischa Barton, Gisele Bundchen,
Shalom Harlow, Elizabeth Hurley, Liya Kebede, Heidi
Klum, Carolyn Murphy, Kate Moss, Liv Tyler, Gemma
Ward and Daria Werbowy. Based in New York, IMG Models
is a leader in model management and talent discovery
in other fashion capitals, including London, Paris
and Sao Paulo.

in Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore and Hong Kong. IMG
FASHION Asia Pacific is set up to provide focused
resources to grow the Asia Pacific fashion industry
through a number of initiatives, while adding value
to existing ventures and events. The new company is
positioned as the most professional, creative and
connected fashion event and fashion media content
developer in the Asia Pacific. The international family
that is IMG also helps to connect Asia Pacific fashion
industries globally.

Australian Fashion Week (MAFW) Bi-annually in Australia
The centre of fashion and business in the Asia Pacific
region. MAFW's Spring Summer Collections held annually
in April/May (Sydney) and Autumn Winter Collections
held annually in October (Melbourne).

Start Up Program (MSU) National event in Australia
A unique incubator program that contributes to the
professional and personal careers of Australia's best
up and coming fashion design talent. MSU links four
state based events across the country, with catwalk
shows taking place in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and
Brisbane. The program commenced in 2001.

Start Up Program (MSU) National event in New Zealand
The first MSU event in New Zealand took place in February
2005. The NZ program follows the same format as the
Australian program.

Asia Fashion Awards Finals - Singapore and a pan-Asia
event
The Mercedes-Benz Asia Fashion Award (MBAFA) is an
international event that gives one winner from Asia
a chance to kick-start their career on the international
arena. MBAFA links designers from all regions of Asia
including; Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Taiwan,
Vietnam and Indonesia.
The
Singapore Fashion Festival - Singapore and a pan-Asia
event
This annual event is the largest for-the-public fashion
and shopping festival in the world. Commissioned by
the Singapore Tourism Board, IMG FASHION Asia Pacific
has a long-term contract to market and produce this
event.
