Line Opinion wins award for most popular politics

Last
week Internet metrics company Hitwise
named On Line Opinion the most popular Australian
politics website. This isn’t a beauty pageant
- it’s the result of the reading habits of the
3 million Australians that Hitwise monitors. It’s
also an endorsement for our consistent quality and
determinedly non-partisan position, as well as the
work done by editor Susan Prior, our volunteer editors
and Dewi and Lachlan who have built our website.
It’s
also a warning to the mainstream political parties
whose websites we beat. Politics used to be about
the clash of ideas, now it’s about managerialism
- increasingly real politics is happening outside
