White House
In
July 2025, President Donald Trump announced plans
to host a UFC event on the White House grounds in
2026, as part of the America250 celebrations marking
the 250th anniversary of American independence. The
event, confirmed by the UFC and White House officials,
is envisioned as a "championship fight"
with 20,00025,000 spectators, likely held on
the South Lawn. UFC CEO Dana White has expressed enthusiasm,
calling it "the baddest card of all time,"
with logistics already in progress, including coordination
with White House staff and Secret Service. Potential
headliners include Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall, with
Conor McGregor also expressing interest, though his
inclusion is less certain. The event aims to be a
historic first, as no professional sporting event
has ever been held on White House grounds. (Grok)

Wanderlei
Silva suffers fractured nose in postfight brawl
Wanderlei
Silva, one of the most popular figures of early mixed
martial arts, received treatment at a hospital Saturday
after he was knocked out in the aftermath of an exhibition
boxing match in Sao Paulo.
Silva,
49, was disqualified in the fourth round for throwing
illegal headbutts against 50-year-old Acelino Freitas.
Immediately after the bout, members of both fighters'
camps entered the ring and started an ugly postfight
brawl. During the scuffle, Silva got hit with a right
hand and crumpled violently to the floor. Brazilian
media identified Silva's attacker as Freitas' son,
Rafael.
Silva's
cornerman and former UFC champion Fabricio Werdum
later posted on social media that Silva suffered a
fractured nose from the punch and received facial
stitches. He was released following treatment.
"The
images don't lie," Werdum said in Portuguese
on social media. "It was so evil for that guy
to punch Wanderlei. He punched the back of the head
of Wanderlei. I don't know if it landed clean, but
it could have been something very serious."
Acelino
Freitas, a former boxing champion, blamed Silva's
corner for the brawl -- namely Werdum, who threw a
series of punches at Freitas and other members of
his team before Silva got knocked out.
"When
the fight ended, the referee disqualified Wanderlei
for the three headbutts, his coach went after me and
punched me," Freitas said on social media. "Wanderlei,
the fight was between you and me and had nothing to
do with the team. If you headbutted me, cool, I don't
care. But unfortunately, Werdum cowardly entered the
ring with your son and went all over everybody. And
I saw that someone also punched you."
Neither
the Brazilian National Boxing Council nor the promotion,
Spaten Fight Night, announced any immediate discipline.
In a statement, Spaten Fight Night said the events
did not represent its values of "sportsmanship
and respect to the rules."
The
boxing match was Silva's first since he retired from
MMA in 2018. He was supposed to face fellow Brazilian
MMA legend Vitor Belfort, but Belfort withdrew and
was replaced by Freitas on less than one month's notice.
The bout was scheduled for eight rounds. Silva weighed
in 44 pounds heavier than Freitas for the exhibition.

WWE Star Shotzi On Ronda Rousey In Pro Wrestling
Asked
about Rousey during an interview with TMZ, former
WWE star Shotzi Blackheart stated that she enjoyed
her time in the ring with the UFC star.
"She
was always so cool," Blackheart said of Rousey.
"She would invite me to her house to come train
with her and she was always down to take the most
brutal bumps. Especially [during] our pay-per-view
match, she was taking some crazy bumps for me."
"I'm
a big Ronda fan," Blackheart continued. "I
will forever be so proud to say, 'Hey, I wrestled
Ronda Rousey in a pay-per-view for the f**king championship.'
You can't take that away from me."
When
asked if Rousey hit harder than other opponents because
of her MMA background, Blackheart denied that to be
the case. There was one exception to that, as Blackheart
said that Rousey's judo throws hurt because they were
real.
Overall,
Blackheart indicated that working with the rest of
the women's locker room was her favorite aspect of
being in WWE. After being released by the company
in May, Blackheart has made her return to the independent
scene with appearances in MLW, GCW, and more.

UFC
Betting: Taira vs Park
Betting
Odds (via BetOnline, as of July 30, 2025):
Tatsuro
Taira: -355 (favorite)
Hyun
Sung Park: +280 (underdog)
Fighter
Breakdown:
Tatsuro
Taira (16-1, No. 6 ranked UFC flyweight):Age: 25,
Height: 57, Reach: 70, Orthodox
stance.
Taira
is a well-rounded fighter with strong grappling (2.35
takedowns per 15 minutes, 2.09 submission attempts
per fight) and sharp striking. Hes coming off
a close split-decision loss to Brandon Royval in October
2024, his first career defeat, but showed resilience
with a career-high six takedowns.
Previously,
Taira won his first six UFC fights, including knockouts
and submissions, with notable victories over Alex
Perez and Carlos Hernandez. His experience in five-round
fights and full training camp give him an edge.
Analysts
favor Taira due to his elite grappling, durability
(never been knocked out), and ability to mix striking
with takedowns. Predictions lean toward a stoppage
win, likely via submission after a knockdown.
Hyun
Sung Park (10-0):Age: 29, Height: 57,
Reach: 66, Orthodox stance.
Park
is an undefeated prospect with nine finishes in ten
fights (five submissions, four knockouts). He won
Road to UFC in 2023 and has three UFC finishes, including
a recent first-round submission over Carlos Hernandez
in March 2025.
Park
steps in on short notice, replacing Amir Albazi, and
was preparing for a three-round fight against Steve
Erceg. This is his first five-round bout, and his
cardio for 25 minutes is untested. His aggressive
grappling and finishing instinct make him dangerous,
but hes facing a significant step-up in competition.
Some
analysts note Parks opportunistic style and
killer instinct could pose a threat if Taira gets
into trouble, as he has in past fights.
Betting
Analysis:
Moneyline:
Taira at -355 implies a 78% chance of victory, reflecting
his experience and versatility. Park at +280 offers
value for an upset, given his finishing ability, but
the short-notice switch and five-round format favor
Taira.
Props
and Predictions:
Taira
to Win by Submission: A strong bet given Tairas
grappling prowess and Parks tendency to engage
in grappling exchanges. Tairas submission prop
is often recommended due to his 2.09 submission attempts
per fight.
Fight
to End Inside the Distance: Park has only gone the
distance once, and Tairas last five fights have
seen four stoppages. The under 3.5 rounds prop could
be worth considering, especially if Taira capitalizes
early.
Upset
Potential: Parks +280 odds are tempting for
risk-takers, as his explosive style could catch Taira,
who has shown vulnerability in fights (e.g., absorbing
130+ strikes against Royval). However, Parks
lack of five-round experience and Tairas preparation
make an upset less likely.
Sentiment
on X: Posts on X heavily favor Taira, with bettors
citing his battle-tested nature and elite grappling
against Parks untested five-round stamina. Some
see Park as a live underdog due to his finishing ability,
but most lean toward Taira winning decisively.
Recommendation:
Safe
Bet: Taira ML (-355) or Taira by submission for conservative
bettors, given his experience and grappling advantage.
Value
Bet: Park at +280 for those willing to take a risk
on his finishing ability, especially if the fight
stays standing early.
Prop
Bet: Taira to win inside the distance (+100 or better)
or under 3.5 rounds, as both fighters have high finish
rates, and Tairas preparation could overwhelm
Park.
Note:
Odds are subject to change as the fight approaches.

Betting: Garry vs Prates
For
the UFC Fight Night main event on April 26, 2025,
in Kansas City, Ian Machado Garry faces Carlos Prates
in a welterweight bout. Heres a breakdown of
the betting odds and key considerations based on available
information:
Betting
Odds (as of April 21, 2025, via DraftKings and other
sources):
Ian
Garry: -130 (favorite, implied win probability ~56.5%)
Carlos
Prates: +110 (underdog, implied win probability ~47.6%)
Moneyline:
Garry (-110) and Prates (-110) have been listed as
pickem odds in some analyses, indicating a close
fight
Other
Markets:
Fight
to Go the Distance No: 8/11 (1.73, ~57.9% probability),
reflecting both fighters finishing tendencies
Garry
to Win in Round 3: 8/1 (9.00, ~11.1% probability),
a high-risk, high-reward bet if Garry exploits late
fatigue
Prates
by KO/TKO: Suggested due to his 10-fight KO streak,
though specific odds vary
Total
Rounds Over 2.5: -180, indicating a likelihood of
the fight lasting longer than 2.5 rounds
Fighter
Breakdown:
Ian
Garry (15-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC):
Strengths:
Technical striking, strong grappling (black belt in
Judo), excellent cardio, and fight IQ. His 63
frame and reach advantage (74.5 inches) allow him
to control range. Garrys recent performances
include wins over strikers like Geoff Neal and Michael
Page, and he nearly submitted Shavkat Rakhmonov despite
a decision loss at UFC 310.
Weaknesses:
Coming off his first career loss to Rakhmonov, and
this fight is on short notice, potentially affecting
preparation. He may struggle against Prates
raw power if caught early.
Betting
Angle: Garrys well-rounded game and experience
against high-level competition make him a slight favorite.
His grappling could neutralize Prates striking,
leading to a decision or late finish.
Carlos
Prates (21-6 MMA, 4-0 UFC):
Strengths: Devastating knockout power (10 consecutive
KOs, 76% of wins by strikes), Muay Thai precision,
and momentum from four straight UFC finishes, all
earning Performance of the Night bonuses. His 4-inch
reach advantage (78.5 inches) over Garry is notable.
Weaknesses:
Limited experience against elite competition like
Garry. His cardio is untested in later rounds, with
no fights going to the third round in six years. Prates
reliance on striking leaves him vulnerable to Garrys
grappling.
Betting
Angle: Prates path to victory is an early KO,
capitalizing on his power and Garrys potential
rust from short-notice prep. His lack of late-round
experience makes him riskier for decision-based bets.
Betting
Considerations:
Garry Moneyline (-130): A solid pick given his versatility
and experience against tougher opponents. His grappling
and cardio could wear Prates down over five rounds.
Prates
by KO/TKO: A value bet for risk-takers, as Prates
has finished all four UFC fights by knockout, and
his power could exploit Garrys aggressive striking
exchanges.
Fight
to Go the Distance No: Both fighters have finishing
instincts, but Garrys durability and Prates
early power suggest a stoppage is more likely than
a full 25-minute fight.
Over
2.5 Rounds (-180): If Garry avoids early danger, his
grappling and pace could extend the fight, making
this a safer bet for those expecting a longer battle.
Prediction
and Best Bet:Garrys technical striking, grappling
advantage, and experience against top-tier welterweights
give him the edge, likely winning by decision or late
stoppage by capitalizing on Prates potential
fatigue. However, Prates knockout threat makes
him a live underdog, especially early. The best bet
is Garry moneyline (-130) for its balance of value
and likelihood, with a secondary look at Over 2.5
Rounds (-180) if you expect Garry to drag the fight
into deeper waters.

UFC
Betting: Moreno vs Erceg
The
UFC Fight Night event featuring Brandon Moreno vs.
Steve Erceg is set for March 29, 2025, at Arena CDMX
in Mexico City. This flyweight main event pits the
former two-time UFC Flyweight Champion Moreno against
former title challenger Erceg, and its shaping
up to be a compelling matchup for bettors. Heres
a breakdown of the betting landscape based on the
latest available information:
Current
Betting Odds
As
of the most recent updates:
Brandon
Moreno: -200 (favorite)
Steve
Erceg: +170 (underdog)
These odds reflect Morenos status as a seasoned
veteran and former champion, fighting in his home
country, against Erceg, who is coming off two losses
but has shown potential in high-level competition.
The line has shifted slightly, with Moreno opening
around -185 to -188 and firming up to -200, indicating
growing confidence from bettors or oddsmakers in his
favor.
Fighter
Breakdown
Brandon
Moreno (23-8-2 MMA, 11-4-2 UFC):
Strengths: Moreno is known for his relentless pace,
crisp striking, and strong grappling. His recent unanimous
decision win over Amir Albazi in November 2024 showed
a return to form after a two-fight skid (split decision
losses to Alexandre Pantoja and Brandon Royval). Hes
never been finished in an official UFC fight, highlighting
his durability.
Betting
Angle: Moreno thrives in five-round fights, often
wearing opponents down. His experience against elite
flyweights like Pantoja, Figueiredo, and Royval gives
him an edge in tactical know-how, especially at altitude
in Mexico City.
Steve
Erceg (12-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC):
Strengths:
Erceg is a well-rounded fighter with solid striking
and grappling skills. He went the distance with champion
Pantoja in a title fight in May 2024, proving he can
hang with the best, though he lost via decision. His
aggression and length could pose problems.
Betting
Angle: Erceg is coming off a first-round KO loss to
Kai Kara-France in August 2024, which might affect
his confidence. However, his +170 underdog odds offer
value for those who believe he can capitalize on Morenos
tendency to start slow or get pressured.
Betting
Options and Insights
Moneyline:
Moreno (-200): A $200 bet wins $100. This is the safer
play given his track record, home advantage, and ability
to outlast opponents over five rounds.
Erceg (+170): A $100 bet wins $170. This is a higher-risk,
higher-reward option for those who think Ercegs
aggression and striking can catch Moreno off-guard
early.
Over/Under
Rounds (2.5 or 4.5):
Moreno has a history of going the distance, with his
last five fights averaging 4.2 rounds. Ercegs
fights have been shorter lately (2.8 rounds average
over his last five), but his bout with Pantoja went
five rounds. Betting the Over 2.5 rounds or even Over
4.5 rounds could be smart, especially if paired with
Morenos moneyline for better value (e.g., Moreno
ML + Over 2.5).
Method
of Victory:
Moreno has 5 KO/TKO wins and 11 submissions but has
leaned toward decisions in recent UFC fights (e.g.,
unanimous decision vs. Albazi). Moreno by decision
could be a solid prop bet.
Erceg
has 2 KO/TKO wins and 6 submissions, but his UFC losses
suggest he struggles to finish top-tier opponents.
Erceg by decision at longer odds might appeal to risk-takers.
Parlay
Potential:
Pairing Moreno ML (-200) with Over 2.5 rounds boosts
the payout while aligning with both fighters
tendencies to go deep into fights. Adding a co-main
event pick like Manuel Torres vs. Drew Dober (close
odds at -120/-120) could further enhance returns.
Key
Considerations
Altitude
Factor: Mexico Citys elevation (7,350 feet)
could impact stamina. Moreno, a native of Tijuana,
has fought there before and won, while Erceg, from
Australia, might struggle if unprepared.
Momentum:
Morenos recent win suggests hes regained
his spark, while Ercegs back-to-back losses
could signal vulnerability.
Public
Sentiment: Posts on X show split opinionssome
favor Morenos experience and home crowd boost,
while others see value in Ercegs underdog odds
and ability to pressure.
Recommendation
For
a balanced approach, Moreno ML (-200) is the most
reliable bet, given his experience, durability, and
favorable conditions. For better value, consider Moreno
ML + Over 2.5 rounds, expecting a competitive fight
that goes past the midpoint. If youre chasing
an upset, Erceg +170 offers decent upside, especially
if you think he can exploit Morenos occasional
slow starts.
The
fights outcome hinges on whether Moreno can
dictate the pace and use his home advantage or if
Erceg can turn it into a brawl and steal a decision
or finish. With the event just days away, keep an
eye on weigh-ins and final odds movements for any
last-minute adjustments. (Grok)

UFC
On ESPN: Betting Odds
As
of today, March 26, 2025, I dont have the specific
betting odds for the next UFC on ESPN event readily
available since the exact event and fight card details
werent specified in your question, and my knowledge
doesnt include real-time odds updates beyond
whats in the search results. However, I can
guide you on how to find the latest UFC on ESPN betting
odds and provide some context based on typical sources
and recent trends.
For
the most current UFC on ESPN betting odds, platforms
like DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel, BetMGM, and OddsChecker
are excellent places to check.
These
sites update odds in real-time and cover a variety
of markets, including moneyline bets, prop bets (e.g.,
method of victory, round totals), and over/under round
lines.
Typically,
UFC on ESPN events feature a mix of main card fights
with odds reflecting favorites (negative numbers,
e.g., -150) and underdogs (positive numbers, e.g.,
+130). For example, a recent UFC Fight Night on ESPN+
(like Edwards vs. Brady on March 22, 2025) had odds
shifting based on fighter performance and public betting
trendsSean Brady was likely an underdog early
but closed stronger after his grappling dominance
became a focal point.
To
give you a sense of what to expect:
Moneyline
Odds: Favorites might range from -120 to -300, depending
on the matchup, while underdogs could be +100 to +250
or higher for big upsets. For instance, a past example
from UFC on ESPN+ 1 (2019) showed T.J. Dillashaw at
-210 vs. Henry Cejudo at +190.
Prop
Bets: Common options include "Fight Goes the
Distance" (e.g., Yes at +150, No at -180) or
"Round Betting" (e.g., Fight Ends in Round
1 at +300).
Over/Under
Rounds: Often set at 1.5 or 2.5 for three-round fights,
with odds around -110 to -140 on either side.
Since
UFC on ESPN events occur frequently (e.g., UFC on
ESPN 63 was in December 2024, and upcoming fights
are scheduled into April 2025), the next event could
be something like UFC on ESPN 64 or a Fight Night.
To
get precise odds:
Visit
a site like DraftKings Sportsbook (http://sportsbook.draftkings.com)
or OddsTrader (http://oddstrader.com) and navigate
to the UFC/MMA section.
Look
for the event labeled "UFC on ESPN" with
the closest date post-March 26, 2025likely in
early April, given the UFCs schedule.
Check
the main card fights for moneyline odds and additional
markets.
If
you have a specific UFC on ESPN event or fight in
mind (e.g., Moreno vs. Erceg rumored for April), let
me know, and I can tailor this further! Otherwise,
expect odds to reflect recent fighter form, with favorites
often backed by striking or grappling edges, adjusted
by betting volume closer to fight night. (Grok)

Fight Night
UFC
Fight Night refers to a series of events organized
by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) that are
not part of the numbered pay-per-view events. Here's
a brief overview:
Event
Structure: UFC Fight Night events typically feature
a main card and a preliminary card. These events often
take place inside the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas,
Nevada, but can also occur in various locations worldwide.
Broadcast:
Unlike the numbered UFC events which require a pay-per-view
purchase for the main card, UFC Fight Night events
are usually broadcast on ESPN or ESPN+ in the United
States, making them more accessible without additional
pay-per-view fees.
Fights:
While Fight Nights do not usually feature major championship
bouts, they often include high-profile matchups and
significant fights that can impact rankings or are
considered stepping stones for fighters aiming for
title contention.
Recent
Highlights: The most recent UFC Fight Night event
discussed was UFC Tampa, which was highlighted for
setting a new North American Fight Night record for
gate revenue, with an attendance of 18,625 and a gate
of $3.06 million. Notable moments from this event
included a knockout by Cub Swanson over Billy Quarantillo,
and performances by Michael Johnson and Dustin Jacoby
were recognized as Performances of the Night.
Upcoming
Events: The next scheduled UFC Fight Night event is
UFC Vegas 101, set to take place inside the UFC Apex
on January 11, 2025. It will feature veterans like
Chris Curtis, Santiago Ponzinibbio, Punahele Soriano,
and Roman Kopylov.
Access:
For those interested in watching, you can stream these
events live on ESPN+ in the US. The prelims usually
start at 6:00 PM ET, with the main card beginning
at 9:00 PM ET.
UFC
Fight Nights are crucial for building up the roster's
talent, offering fans free or more affordable access
to UFC events, and often serving as a testing ground
for up-and-coming fighters or those returning from
a break or injury. (Grok)

Dern
vs. Ribas 2
The
rematch between Mackenzie Dern and Amanda Ribas, known
as Dern vs. Ribas 2, is scheduled to headline UFC
Fight Night 249 on January 11, 2025, at the UFC Apex
in Las Vegas, Nevada. This fight is a women's strawweight
bout, where both fighters will look to make a statement
in the division.
In
their first encounter at UFC Fight Night: Joanna vs.
Waterson in October 2019, Amanda Ribas won by unanimous
decision. This upcoming fight is a chance for Mackenzie
Dern to even the score, while Ribas aims to repeat
her success against Dern.
Here's
a summary of what to expect:
Event:
UFC Fight Night 249, also known as UFC Vegas 101 or
UFC on ESPN+ 107.

Main Event: Mackenzie Dern vs. Amanda Ribas in a 5-round
women's strawweight fight.

UFC
Betting
UFC
betting involves placing wagers on various aspects
of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) matches, which
are part of the broader Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) discipline.
Here's an overview of key aspects of UFC betting:
Types
of UFC Bets:
Moneyline Betting: This is the simplest form where
you bet on who will win the fight. Odds indicate the
favorite and underdog, with the favorite having negative
odds and the underdog having positive odds.
Over/Under
Rounds: Bettors predict if the fight will go over
or under a specified number of rounds (e.g., over/under
2.5 rounds for a three-round fight).
Method
of Victory: You wager on how the fight will end, whether
by knockout (KO), technical knockout (TKO), submission,
or decision.
Round
Betting: Betting on which round the fight will end,
or betting on the fight to go to a specific round.
Prop
Bets: These are bets on specific occurrences during
the fight, like whether a fight will go the distance
or if there will be a knockdown.
Live
Betting: Betting as the fight happens, with odds adjusting
based on the action inside the octagon.
Key
Considerations:
Fighter Stats and Style: Understanding the fighters'
records, their fighting styles, strengths, and weaknesses
can guide better betting decisions. For example, knowing
if a fighter has a strong ground game or is better
standing can influence bets on the method of victory.
Odds
Movement: Changes in betting odds can reflect where
the smart money is going or how the public is betting.
Tracking these movements can help in making informed
bets.
Injuries
and Recent Performance: Fighters' health, recent fights,
and training camp news can significantly impact outcomes.
Betting
Sites: Different platforms offer varying odds and
betting options. Sites like DraftKings, FanDuel, and
BetMGM are known for competitive UFC odds and extensive
bet types.
Current
Trends and Events:
Recent discussions on platforms like X suggest a high
level of engagement with UFC Tampa, with users sharing
their predictions and betting strategies for the event.
There's a notable interest in longshots and parlays,
indicating both high-risk and potentially high-reward
betting activities.
Tips
for Bettors:
Do Your Research: Beyond just stats, look into fighter
interviews, weight cut issues, and how they match
up stylistically.
Manage
Your Bankroll: Don't bet more than you can afford
to lose, and consider spreading bets across different
fights or types.
Understand
the Odds: Knowing how to read odds will help you understand
potential payouts and implied probabilities.
Stay
Updated: UFC is unpredictable, and last-minute news
can change the dynamics of a fight.
UFC
betting combines the excitement of the sport with
the strategic aspect of betting, making it a favorite
among MMA fans and bettors alike. Remember, while
betting can add to the fun, it should be done responsibly.
(Grok)
Media Man: Pumped to see who will make the most of
this upcoming Fight Night in Vegas. Much respect to
the fighters who risk it all. Who will step up and
make more history?!

SURVIVOR
SERIES NEWS: NXT stars debut in PPV main event angle,
plus other news from annual PPV - 18th November 2012
--
NXT champion Seth Rollins (formerly Tyler Black),
Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns debuted on WWE TV by
attacking Ryback and preventing him from capturing
the WWE Title in the Survivor Series PPV main event.
Rollins,
Ambrose, and Reigns were identified by announcer Michael
Cole as being from the NXT Developmental system. After
they took out Ryback via powerbomb through the Spanish
announce table, Punk pinned John Cena, who had received
Shell Shock from Ryback before Ryback was taken out
by the NXT trio.
--
No titles changed hands during the PPV. In the other
top title match, Sheamus beat Big Show via DQ after
Show pulled referee Scott Armstrong in the way of
a Brogue Kick. Sheamus then delivered a massive beat
down to Show using a chair, which likely sets up a
World Title re-match at the TLC PPV next month.
--
In the other title matches, Antonio Cesaro retained
the U.S. Title over Kofi Kingston and Eve retained
the Divas Title over Kaitlyn.
--
In the top Survivor Series elimination match, Dolph
Ziggler pinned Randy Orton to be the sole survivor
for Team Ziggler over Team Foley. Earlier in the show,
WWE teased tension between Orton and Mick Foley, playing
up their historical feud from Orton's early days.
Also earlier in the show, David Otunga was named as
Cody Rhodes's replacement on Team Ziggler following
Rhodes's injury at last week's Smackdown TV taping.
--
Tamina, who recently trained with The Rock, returned
to WWE TV as Vickie Guerrero's hired bodyguard. The
set-up was that A.J. Lee noted that if Vickie places
her hands on her, then Vickie will be removed as interim
Raw authority figure. Tamina then blindsided A.J.
and Superfly Splashed her to establish her new role
as Vickie's enforcer (Pro
Wrestling Torch)

News Flashback
Brock
Lesnar vs Jon 'Bones' Jones being speculated by sports
media commentators; Will WWE top brass make it happen
for WrestleMania
For
months there's been speculation running rampant about
the potential match up of Brock Lesnar aka 'The Beast'
vs Jon 'Bones' Jones.
Due
to Jones recent drug testing fail it would appear
that the obvious place for the match up to happen
would be under the WWE umbrella, and what better event
to have it take place than WrestleMania.
WWE
is always looking for unique, high interest (and grossing)
main event matches, and there's little doubt that
this dream match would draw massive publicity, and
would certainly help sell out an arena (and boost
WWE Network subscriber numbers at the same time).
Would
the risk of booking such a dream match be worth the
potential risk and payoff? Only a few select top brass
in the WWE would know, those individuals would be
the likes of Vince McMahon and Triple H. Pat Patterson
would possibly be in the decision making also, and
could very well help book the match, should it be
scripted, as all WWE matches are. Or, would the WWE
just have these men fight for real? Problem is if
its for real, as the WWF Brawl For All was, both men
could get seriously hurt and be out of action for
many months. Then again, both men would be part-times
and are special attractions, so it's not like they
have to be out on the road going to arena to arena,
following such a bout.
There's
also talk whether UFC / MMA sensation Conor McGregor
may seriously look at one or more matches under the
WWE banner no matter what the result from his clash
with Floyd 'Money' Mayweather, who is not a stranger
to the WWE ring, having previously fought and beat
'The Big Show' at WrestleMania 24.
It's
certainly interesting times for the WWE / Sports Entertainment
- MMA - Boxing connection.
Let's
all hope that a Lesnar vs Jones and the upcoming McGregor
vs Mayweather fight surpass the infamous Ali vs Inoki
match from 1976.
As
Bruce Buffer says, Let's get ready to rumble. Let's
now cross to ringside with Mauro Ranallo for the call
of the action.
